- Frank Wood and Frank Clayton volunteered to assist Ben Zwierink and Rod Oliver with the regional PotY judging.
- Dewsbury Beer Festival scheduled for May is now cancelled.
- Treasurer - No change to the balance.
- membership secretary - 1173 (no change); M:F 82:18; 32 U30s (2.7%).
- beer scoring coordinator - 4075 scores in the last year; 106 pubs currently meet the GBG qualifying criteria.

- Report from CAMRA national AGM and Members’ Weekend
AGM: Uncontested NE election. Accounts show small surplus.
Annual Conference: Motion to campaign for reintroduction of prominent display of prices was carried. Motion from NE to stop new life memberships was defeated. Motion to insert 0.25 steps in NBSS was defeated. Motion on the hire of CAMRA equipment was remitted to NE for further consideration.
- Branch Pub of the Summer
Pubs nominated: Samuel Oldknow, Beer Shed, Rock Mill Brewery Tap “The Pits”, Cheshire Ring.
Nominators’ statements and beer scoring data were read. Email votes were combined with the votes in the room (elimination ballot), and the winner was Beer Shed.
Beer Shed will be approached about a presentation on 23rd July. ACTION
- Opening Times. Next edition will be available in the first week of May, along with publicity material for Stockport Beer Festival. New plastic holders will be available.
- Website. A new branch website is available at https://highpeak.camra.org.uk
- Pub news
- The White Hart, Whaley Bridge, has reopened
- Shrub Club has no real ale
- Marple Tavern has no real ale - needs to be checked
- Archie’s (New Mills) has closed
- The Sportsman, Strines, will reopen at the end of July
- Beer has improved at the Ash Tree in Ashton
- Modern Jazz now on every Sunday and Tuesday at the Railway, Stockport
- The Commercial, Glossop, is now Cask Marque accredited
- Other Business
- Lisa Wood is proposing another event to follow on from the successful IWD event for women members
- We use the CAMRA definition of a pub, which encompasses many different styles of pub, in making Pub of the Year and Season awards
- Date of next meeting – Tuesday May 10th 8pm at the Station Buffet Bar, Stalybridge. To include branch Cider Pub of the Year presentation
